MAERSK announces a significant increase in freight rates

MAERSK , the world's second largest shipping company, announced on July 3rd that starting from July 31st, the freight rates per 20GP container from major ports in Asia to several ports in northern Europe, including Rotterdam, will be increased to $1025- $1050, and the freight rates per 40HC container will be increased to $1900- $1950, with increases of over 30% and 55% respectively. MAERSK has also increased its freight rates to Australia, and CMA has followed up with the increase in European freight rates (MAERSK and CMA have successively announced increases in FAK rates from Asia to various parts of the world).
